PS5 Pro Reveal Coming Soon As New Leaked Details Emerge

It appears that the reveal of the PS5 Pro, Sony's rumored mid-gen refresh, is imminent. That's according to a report by Dealabs (and picked up by Insider Gaming), which includes details such as the console's official name, what type of controller is packaged with it, design, and announcement date.

First off, let's get one thing clear: this information should be seen as unofficial rumors, despite the solid source. Now, let's get to the juicy details!

According to the report, the official name for Sony's mid-gen refresh is indeed the PS5 Pro. It will come with a standard DualSense Controller. From the design drawing shared in the report, it appears that the PS5 Pro will not have a disk drive, but there could also be a digital and disk edition, just like the PS5 Slim and regular PS5.

In terms of design, the PS5 Pro will keep the same color scheme with white side plates. It should be a bit thicker than the PS5 Slim and also offer two USB-C ports and a power button on the front. 

The notable difference in design is the three black stripes in the middle of the white side panels, compared to the one stripe on the PS5 Slim. Below, you'll find a drawing from a reliable source, billbil-kun, via the Dealabs report mentioned earlier. 

So when will the PS5 Pro get announced? According to the report, the console will be announced "very soon." In fact, the "first half of September 2024" is mentioned, and Insider Gaming notes that the PS5 Pro should still be released mid-November, according to their sources.
