Season 12 of Overwatch 2 has arrived, bringing with it a wealth of new content, including the debut of Clash mode, two new maps, a Mythic Anubis Reaper skin, and the latest Support Hero, Juno. She was briefly playable towards the end of Season 11, and while initial reactions were mostly positive, the reception seems to have shifted now that she's been fully released.

Many players have taken to the internet to share their opinions on Juno, with some even going so far as to call her "useless" as a support. However, there’s more to this statement than meets the eye, so let's take a moment to explore the negative feedback Juno has received since the launch of Season 12.

Overwatch 2 Players Brand Juno as "Useless" Compared to Other Support Heroes

Juno has just been released in Season 12 of Overwatch 2, and despite being touted as one of the most "well-designed" heroes in the game, players have raised some concerns about her kit, with some even arguing that she’s "useless." This sentiment was notably expressed by Overwatch 2 streamer Bogur, who stated, "Juno feels useless & is somehow worse than Lifeweaver."

Bogur’s opinion carries weight, given his extensive experience with support heroes and his impressive track record, including two epic videos where he climbed from Bronze to Grandmaster with both Lifeweaver and Mercy. The prevailing criticism seems to be that Juno is too balanced, especially compared to other support heroes who are perceived as "broken." As a result, while Juno may be a well-designed and balanced hero, she doesn’t stand out as a strong pick compared to others.

Players have echoed this sentiment, with one remarking, “The problem is heroes like Ana, Baptiste, Illari, Kiriko, etc. in that same role. Heroes [are] designed for toddlers and aren’t balanced. Juno was never going to be able to compete.” Another player added, “She is pretty balanced, the problem is that the other supports are too strong.”

Compounding these issues, Juno’s stats were also adjusted after her initial playtests—her health was slightly reduced, and her Mediblaster’s rate of fire was lowered. While she did receive buffs to her Pulsar Torpedoes, Hyper Ring, and Orbital Ray, many players feel she should have been left unchanged.

Personally, having played Juno over the past day or two, I find that she’s still manageable. While I do miss the extra health and increased rate of fire, she remains a solid hero if you can master her kit. Of course, this is just my take, and I hope Blizzard takes feedback from players like myself and larger creators like Bogur to continue refining Juno and making her the best hero she can be.
