Red Barrels has released the soundtrack for The Outlast Trials on music streaming platforms and vinyl, just in time for the game's Halloween event. The eerie soundtrack features tracks from composer Tom Salta, who has also composed music for games like Deathloop, PUBG, and Halo and is known for his mixture of modern and traditional scoring techniques.
As fans of the game will know, the soundtrack includes both dramatic orchestral pieces and dark synthetic compositions - a perfect last-minute addition to any fans' Halloween party playlist.
"Salta's incorporation of unnerving diegetic music – spanning eerie pastiches of mid-century styles – creates an unsettling contrast that deepens the overall experience of the score," reads a press release from the game's developers. "The Outlast Trials soundtrack is a spine-tingling journey through the very essence of fear and despair."
The vinyl will come in two different versions: the Limited Edition double LP, which comes with special blood red discs, and the Standard Edition, which simply offers a traditional black LP. The soundtrack, which contains 35 unique songs, has been specially mastered for vinyl to ensure the best listening experience for fans. (As a bonus, sleeves come with special artwork for the game by Red Barrels.)
Pre-orders for the Limited Edition double LP are open now, while the Standard Edition is already available for purchase online and in retailers. As for streaming services, The Outlast Trials soundtrack is available on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Deezer for streaming now.
