Last Epoch Merchants Guild Explained: Unlocking and Trading

The Merchants Guild in Last Epoch is recognized as the go-to guild for players keen on trading or selling the items they discover, fittingly earning its title as the "merchant" guild. To join this guild, players must reach the Upper District of Maj'Elka in Chapter 9 of the Campaign. This can be achieved by progressing through the main story up to that point or by using a Temporal Sanctum Key to defeat Chronomancer Julra, unlocking a shortcut straight to Chapter 9.

Once unlocked, players gain access to the Bazaar, where they can sell and buy unique items. However, to maximize trading in the Bazaar, players need to earn Favor and Faction Rank (details below). Your Faction Rank unlocks the ability to sell and buy items through an auction house-style system in the Bazaar. A higher Faction Rank also enables the purchase of higher-quality items. Favor is utilized to list items for sale and when selecting items to buy.

To boost your Favor, players need to defeat monsters, with the amount earned varying based on the experience the monster rewards. Completing quests also contributes to earning favor, and as you progress in the game, you accumulate more. 

Your Rank increases over time as you gain experience through defeating enemies, completing quests, and participating in the Merchant's Guild's main mechanic—trading through the Bazaar. Essentially, the more you trade, the more your rank increases.

In summary, by joining the guild and earning both Favor and Rank, you can purchase and sell items while increasing your overall rank and progressively acquiring better items. This is in contrast to the Circle of Fortune faction we mentioned in the intro, which focuses on picking up better items but not being able to trade for them.

Last Epoch Merchants Guild Rank Rewards

As you progress in Faction Rank with the Merchant's Guild, various bonuses become available. Beginning with the ability to Sell all items and Buy up to Rare items, later ranks unlock the option to purchase higher-quality items.

There are 10 levels of Faction Rank, each providing distinct Rank Rewards as follows:

  • Sell all items and buy Normal, Magic, and Rare items in the Bazaar or directly from other players.
• Rank 2: (Buy Set Items)
  • Purchase Set Items in the Bazaar or directly from other players.

  • Acquire Unique Items with no Legendary Potential in the Bazaar or directly from other players.
• Rank 4: (Buy Idols)
  • Buy Idols in the Bazaar or directly from other players.

  • Obtain Exalted Weapons in the Bazaar or directly from other players.
• Rank 6: (Buy Unique Weapons)
  • Access Unique Weapons with Legendary Potential in the Bazaar or directly from other players.

  • Purchase all Exalted items in the Bazaar or directly from other players.

  • Get Legendary Weapons in the Bazaar or directly from other players.
