Since the next-gen version of GTA Online is free for the first three months on PS5, and heavily discounted on Xbox Series X/S, there's bound to be a large influx of players, likely putting strain on the servers.

Are GTA Online next-gen servers down?
At the time of writing, the GTA Online next-gen servers are not down. This could, however, change at a moment's notice, as we expect players to flock to the game in droves.

GTA Online next-gen servers could go down for any number of reasons, such as emergency or planned maintenance, unexpected server outages, or players might simply not be able to connect due to a large number trying to get in at the same time.
How to check GTA Online next-gen server status?
To check if the GTA Online next-gen servers (for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S) are down or not, we suggest visiting the official Rockstar Games Service Status page as per the image above.
At the time of writing, GTA Online for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles have not been added. This should change on 15th March.
Alternatively, you can use the DownDetector page for GTA 5. Here, you can check if any other gamers have reported issues with the servers in the past 24 hours. You can also report any connection issues, and maybe even get some help.
