Best Intelligence Weapons In Elden Ring

Intelligence builds in Elden Ring can be powerful options for players looking to focus on specific weapons that focus on sorcery. But a huge part of any of these builds will be the intelligence weapon you choose to use and that's where the options become even more varied and complicated to choose from.

So if you're struggling to figure out what the best intelligence weapons in Elden ring are that you can choose from, then you can rest assured, as we have you covered. Below we have listed the top five best intelligence weapons you should be using in Elden Ring for your next intelligence build.

Best Intelligence Weapons In Elden Ring

Intelligence weapons in Elden ring focus on dealing high amounts of damage with incantations, on top of the direct physical damage they dish out. This means that most weapons will need to have a good balance of each type of damage, but most will be powerful because of the incantations they possess as they are based on magic.

As such we have ordered the best intelligence weapons in Elden Ring by the overall power they can dish out and how well they scale over time in both physical damages, but most importantly the power of their incantations.

Moonveil

Moonveil is considered the best intelligence weapon for its high damage, speed and weapon skill. (Picture: YouTube / RageGamingVideos)

Requirements: 23 Intelligence, 12 Strength, 18 Dexterity

Moonveil Location: To find Moonveil, you have to defeat the main boss of the Gael Tunnel in Caelid. Located on the border area of Caelid and Limgrave.

At the top of our list is Moonveil. A favorite for PvP and Intelligence build users, and for good reason. This katana scales with intelligence and deals tremendous amounts of damage at a close range in quick succession.

This gives you the ability to attack at a long range with spells and incantations but gives you a (literal) edge in close-range combat. Where Moonveil stands out is due to its Transient Moonlight weapon skill that allows you to sheath the blade and release a powerful long-range vertical or horizontal beam slash attack.

Dark Moon Greatsword

Requirements: 38 Intelligence, 16 Strength, 11 Dexterity

Dark Moon Greatsword Location: Complete Ranni’s Questline and go to the Moonlight Altar, then go towards the Cathedral of Manus Celes to get this weapon.

A classic from the Souls series makes its return in Elden Ring, sporting a high damage output and scaling well with intelligence. It also gives you an extra perk that deals frost damage, which is great for slowing down your enemies while you mow them down with this massive blade.

The Dark Moon Greatsword has a weapon skill that buffs the damage of your weapon, and also gives you a powerful beam attack that activates when you use the heavy attack. Making this one of the more superb weapon choices for any intelligence build in Elden Ring.

Wing of Astel

Requirements: 21 Intelligence, 7 Strength, 17 Dexterity

Wing of Astel Location: You can find this weapon inside a small chest at the top of the Uhl Palace Ruins. You can get there by going through the northern part of the Ainsel River.

One of the few melee weapons in Elden Ring that scales well with intelligence (especially when upgraded to the fullest), the Wing of Astel is a great choice for the more in-your-face style players who love intelligence builds. It features a short-range beam attack that launches when using the heavy attack, giving you a great balance of long and short-range damage.

Starscourge Greatsword

Requirements: 38 Strength, 12 Dexterity, and 15 Intelligence

Starscourge Greatsword Location: Trade Remembrance of the Starscourge with Enia who can be found at the Roundtable Hold. Or check out our guide on getting the Starscourge Greatsword.

The weapons you gain when defeating Starscourge Radahn live up to the boss himself, as these are powerful swing-blades (even though they're called a "Greatsword") and feature a decimating weapon skill which makes it a top pick. The weapon skill called "Starcaller Cry" pulls enemies in and demolishes them, a great fit for a long-range player to pick off enemies from a distance.

Royal Greatsword

The Royal Greatsword isn't the best intelligence weapon, but it has a decent weapon skill and good physical damage. (Picture: YouTube / RageGamingVideos)

Requirements: 26 Strength, 19 Dexterity, 22 Intelligence

Royal Greatsword Location: Defeat Blaidd during the Ranni questline when he spawns in front of the Ranni Rise tower.

This weapon looks epic, and while it isn't the most powerful in terms of raw intelligence scaling and versatility, it does offer some useful features for any mage or intelligence build. The Royal Greatsowd scales in strength and intelligence while dealing frost damage upon hitting enemies with the weapon skill called "Wolf's Assault."
