Original story:
While everyone is coming to terms with another Fire Emblem character in Smash Bros. Ultimate, it seems Dragon Ball FighterZ wants to steal meme thunder by adding another Goku.
According to reliable leaker Ryokutya2089 (via Gematsu), the latest issue of Japanese manga magazine V-Jump reveals Goku Ultra Instinct will be the next DLC fighter in Dragon Ball FighterZ.
The next issue is set to be released in the coming days, so there’s little information at present. Although it states we’ll find out more about the announcement at the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour finals on 8-9 February in Paris, France.
We’ll likely find out more information when the issue releases, so for now it’s probably best to take this information with a pinch of salt.
Goku Ultra Instinct from Dragon Ball Super
If true, it won’t exactly be welcome news for much of the community. There’s already an endless supply of Goku on the roster, ranging from Goku Black, Kid Goku, SSGSS Goku, to Base Goku, so another one of his forms feels like a throwaway addition.
Goku Ultra Instinct is a relatively new form from Dragon Ball Super, where his hair and aura turn white and silver to give him godly powers.
This news coincides with the recent release of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot – an open-world action RPG developed by CyberConnect2 which is recieving largely positive reviews.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. The Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour finals take place on 8-9 February.
