With such a deep character creator in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, it can be overwhelming to find your perfect fit right out of the gate. Fortunately, you'll be able to freely change your appearance once you're a bit further along in Veilguard. A few other details can be altered, but we'll also go over what you can't change after character creation in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
How to Change Appearance in Veilguard
While you can regularly change your appearance in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, it won't be an option until after the first section of the game. After you've gotten to the ritual with Solas, you'll end up at the Lighthouse following a handful of cutscenes.
Once you have access to the Lighthouse, look for the Mirror of Transformation in the infirmary. Interact with the mirror, and you'll be able to start making changes. If you want to instead change your equipment appearance and that of your companions, look for the Wardrobe in the infirmary or your room.
In the appearance section, you can choose an entirely different preset to start from scratch or go in and tweak your existing appearance. Everything from body proportions to scars and tattoos can be edited, so don't fret too much if you are unsure during character creation. You can also change your first name, voice, and voice pitch at any time.
There are some details set when creating a new character that you won't be able to edit. Your chosen Race, Lineage, Class, and Faction are set and cannot be altered. Also, your gender identity (Man / Woman / Non-Binary) and pronouns (she/her / he/him / they/them) can't with the Mirror of Transformation. Unfortunately, players will need to start a new Dragon Age: The Veilguard save if they want to use different options in those categories.
