The day of the World First race for the Vow of the Disciple raid is almost upon us. With the six-man activity set to launch on 5th March, Bungie has detailed everything players tackling the raid.
On the 3rd March This Week at Bungie blog post, the developers laid down all the necessary information for Guardians looking to compete on the raid race or those that are simply looking for a day 1 completion.
Without further ado, let's break down all the information you need to know about the Vow of the Disciple World First raid race in Destiny 2.
Vow of the Disciple raid race - Schedule
As we've mentioned previously, the Vow of the Disciple raid will be available on Saturday 5th March starting at 10:00 am PST (6:00 pm GMT).
Once the timer starts, the raid race will begin, with Contest Mode being enabled for 24 hours.
Vow of the Disciple Contest Mode
During the initial raid race and for a whole entire day, Contest Mode will be active for everyone trying to complete the raid.
Each encounter will be set at 1550 Power Level, with Guardians' PL capped at 20 less, that is 1530PL. One thing worth mentioning is that the Artifact power will be enabled but won't grant any benefits past the 1530 threshold.
Vow of the Disciple day 1 disabled gear
To ensure an even playing field, plenty of legendary and exotic weapons will not be enabled during Contest Mode's period. We've also detailed some mods that won't be selectable.
Here is the full list of everything you won't be able to take into the day 1 raid challenge.
Weapons:
- IKELOS_SMG_V1.0.2 Legendary SMG
- Imperial Needle Legendary Bow
- Grand Overture Exotic Machine Gun
- Wardcliff Coil Exotic Rocket Launcher
Armor & Mods:
- Wormgod Caress Titan Exotic Gauntlets
- Peregrine Greaves Titan Exotic Legs
- Suppressing Glaive Artifact Armor Mod
Vow of the Disciple raid race - Rewards
As per usual, Bungie will award the six members of the first fireteam that completes the Vow of the Disciple raid before anyone else will receive a commemorative belt to mark the occasion.
Unlike the Vault of Glass belt, which was silver, as it also paid tribute to the original Guardians who completed it during its initial launch in 2014, the Vow of the Disciple belt returns to a more classic gold-plated look.
Vow of the Disciple day 1 rewards
Even if you don't complete the raid before anyone else, Bungie has a special reward in place: a unique emblem only available while Contest Mode is active.
Of course, there will be plenty of not time-gated gear and weapons to earn, as well as the emblem down below after completing the raid for the first time.
There are plenty more real-life rewards for completing the raid before 15th March, including access to purchase a one-of-a-kind jacket.
