The Dungeon area of Crow Country's Haunted Hilltop contains a puzzle that requires some witty thinking and obtaining a few items. Once you solve it, you'll get a key item and can progress through the rest of the game. Here's how to solve the Dungeon puzzle in Crow Country and get the Acid Bottle inside the Mermaid's cage.

How To Solve The Dungeon Puzzle In Crow Country

To solve the Dungeon puzzle in Crow Country, you'll need to have solved the previous puzzles and unlocked the Data Disc. You can then enter the Dungeon and approach the table covered by a cloth against one wall of the room. The screen will light up with a code entry, with options for numbers of arms, legs, head, and eyes.

You'll need to enter the number of body parts that correspond with each labeled cage in the Dungeon:

• Mermaid: 2 Arms, 0 Legs, 1 Head, 2 Eyes
• Serpent: 0 Arms, 0 Legs, 1 Head, 2 Eyes
• Cyclops: 2 Arms, 2 Legs, 1 Head, 1 Eye
• Wolf: 0 Arms, 4 Legs, 1 Head, 2 Eyes

Once you enter a code, go inside that cage and grab the items inside. Then, return to the computer terminal and move on to the next cage. The Acid Bottle that you need is inside the Mermaid's cage, so this is the only cage that's actually necessary to open. However, the others contain helpful items like Ammo and Med Kits, so it's definitely worth quickly exploring them.

Once you're done, you can also enter the secret Ophelia code to unlock the gated tomb in the Crypt and get some Magnum Ammo. This is one of the game's 15 secrets. Ophelia's gravestone indicates that she's a human, so you'll enter 2 Arms, 2 Legs, 1 Head, 2 Eyes. Just enter that code and head back to Ophelia's tomb in the Crypt to get your reward.
