In Group D of the BLAST Fall Groups 2024, we've seen some incredible Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports matches, and most of them were thanks to the new roster of Team Liquid with young new AWPer Roland "ultimate" Tomkowiak and the addition of Justin "jks" Savage.

Team Liquid gave Virtus.pro a smackdown in their opening match and then shocked fans worldwide by beating NAVI in a dramatic series. Then, NAVI set up a rematch against Team Liquid in the Group D finale by easily sweeping German side BIG under the rug.
Going into the event, NAVI was ranked #1, while Team Liquid was in #14. On NAVI's map pick of Nuke, it looked like they would take revenge on the earlier defeat, scoring 10 rounds in the first half as CT, and then finishing up the map with a 13-9 despite efforts such as an insane 4v1 clutch and ace attempt from Justin "jks" Savage.
Liquid had a slow start on their map pick of Anubis with NAVI leading 5-0 as Twistzz pulled off a 2v1 clutch but couldn't defuse the bomb due to technical difficulties.
Liquid's new IGL, Canadian Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken, rallied the troops to make a strong comeback on a map that turned out to be too close to call in regulation, barely keeping Liquid alive.
Liquid forced overtime on Anubis after a strong comeback and won 16-14, tying up the series 1-1 for the third and deciding map, Inferno.
On Inferno, NAVI pulled ahead with vigor in the first half as the CTs, score 9 rounds to Liquid's 3. However, Team Liquid went on a massive win streak on the CT side of Inferno, defending with precision and winning 10 rounds to NAVI's 1 to win the map 13-10. When the scores were tied 9-9, it was Liquid's new AWPer, Roland "ultimate" Tomkowiak, who scored four kills with the Big Green on the B site defense to put Liquid ahead.
With the win on Inferno, Liquid reverse swept NAVI 2-1, sending the highest-ranked team to the Play-In stage.
