With millions of dollars invested by the parties involved, the opening event of the CDL will be hoping to go off without a hitch.
Following the release of the official CDL jerseys, all eyes will be on Minnesota ahead of 24th January as teams make their league debuts.
What is the Call of Duty League Launch Weekend?
The Call of Duty League is a global city-based franchised professional league for Call of Duty replacing the CoD World League.
There are 12 teams based in various cities across Europe and North America including Chicago, London, Los Angeles and Paris.
Each team has a name and brand uniquely linked to the CDL and many big names from CoD history including 100 Thieves are absent.
Week 1 of the league is the "Launch Weekend" and will be hosted by Minnesota RÃKKR at the Minneapolis Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Alongside the professional matches, there will be an open tournament for amateur players to compete in.
When is the Call of Duty League Launch Weekend?
The CDL Launch Weekend will run from 24-26th January, with the first match set to begin at 22:30 GMT (14:30 PST / 23:30 CET).
For those watching from Europe, the final day will run into the early hours of 27th January.

All of the CDL Launch Weekend action will be broadcast on the official Call of Duty Twitch channel.

Which platform is used for the Call of Duty League?
The platform used to play Modern Warfare in the Call of Duty League currently is the PlayStation 4.
It is not known if or when the League might switch to the upcoming PlayStation 5 in the future for 2021.
What is the prize pool for the Call of Duty League?
There is a prize pool of $6,000,000 for the Call of Duty League but it is not yet known how this will be spread across the various events throughout the year.
