If you've been crushing Modern Warfare 3 since it launched, you've probably gotten a little tired of the main rotation of maps on offer. With the launch of Season 2, on February 7, things will thankfully freshen up.
A number of new Multiplayer maps will be hitting the playlists, including four new core 6v6 maps and a brand new War map. Below, we'll breakdown every new map coming to MW3 in Season 2.
Table of Contents
Modern Warfare 3 Season 2: All New Maps
Throughout MW3 Season 2, a variety of new maps will be added into the selection, including core maps, new map variants, and a new War map. Some will be available at launch, while others will be dropping during the mid-season update.
MW3 Season 2: All New Core Maps
Departures
- Release: Season 2 launch
- Size: Medium - large map
- Type: 6v6, Core
A new Departures area in Zakhaev International Airport. Larger than Terminal, this new map will have players finding long-range vantage points, or dueling it out in the on-site restaurant, cosmetics store and, of course, Burger Town.
Stash House
- Release: Season 2 launch
- Size: Small map
- Type: 6v6, Core
This cozy map will be another fast-paced and chaotic battlefield, with gunfights taking place across the recently raided Bay Area stash house. If you like Shipment, but have perhaps grown tired of the shipping container environment, Stash House could be your new favorite.
Vista
- Release: Season 2 launch
- Size: Medium map
- Type: 6v6, Core
Set in a Brazilian mountaintop resort, players will be making their way around a beautiful vacation spot. Shame you'll be here to ruin the peace. Expect gift shops, restaurants, and even a tram, all with views out onto the vista.
Das Haus
- Release: Season 2 mid-season
- Size: Small map
- Type: 6v6, Core
This remastered Call of Duty: Vanguard map is reminiscent of Highrise, given that it's situated in a similar area. It's also still under construction, so expect scaffolding, tarps, and plenty of concrete.
MW3 Season 2: New Map Variants
Core maps aren't all that's heading to Modern Warfare 3 Season 2. Two additional variants will be joining the ranks of previously otherwordly maps, such as Tetanus, Sporeyard, and Satan's Quarry from Season 1's Vortex event. During the mid-season, Vortex will be back, this time with two more bizarre maps to explore:
Airborne
- Release: Season 2 mid-season
- Size: Medium Map (Terminal)
- Type: 6v6, limited-time
Something nasty has taken over Terminal, with weird growths and strange particles around every corner. Expect darkened skies of locusts and more bugs in your Burger Town meal than usual. Someone pass me the hand sanitizer.
Skidgrow
- Release: Season 2 mid-season
- Size: Medium Map (Skidrow)
- Type: 6v6, limited-time
Nature has taken back Skidrow, with ivy and vines now creeping their way across every abandoned building. Things feel a litle more post-apocalyptic here, and long forgotten.
MW3 Season 2: New War Map
Finally, Season 2 will see the addition of a new War map, where you'll be tasked with infiltrating downtown Urzikstan.
Operation Tin Man
- Release: Season 2 launch
- Size: Large map
- Type: 6v6, War Mode
In the new Operation Tin Man, you'll be skydiving in with your team onto the roof of a skyscraper. You'll then need to work your way through the construction site. One team is tasked with defending the building, while the other must control, explode, and fight their way down.
Make it far enough and the fight will spill out onto the urban park below. There's plenty to keep your eye on in this map, so don't expect any downtime.
That's all for the new maps heading to MW3 in Season 2, but there's plenty more content arriving alongside them. The Walking Dead's Rick Grimes and Michonne will be making an appearance as a Battle Pass unlock and in-store purchase, respectively. So check out our guide for more details.
