When does Warzone Season 3 release? Possible new map, weapons and more

Warzone Season 2 got underway in late February 2021, bringing the Outbreak game mode, a shiny new Battle Pass, new weapons in the form of the LC10 SMG and the FARA 83 AR to the game. With every new season, fans can expect a whole lot of new content coming their way. If you are wondering when Warzone Season 3 will release, and when Season 2 ends, as well as possible content details, we've got you covered.

Warzone Season 3 release date

According to the countdown timer in the Warzone Season 2 Battle Pass, the current season will last 55 days. This puts the Season 2 end date at 21st April 2021. 

While one has to take possible delays into consideration, the expected release date for Warzone Season 3 is also 21st April 2021.

It all depends on how long of a server downtime there could possibly be, especially since an end-of-season event could take some more. This brings us to the new map rumours in Warzone Season 3.

Warzone Season 3: New map rumours

Brace yourself, a possible nuclear attack could destroy Verdansk in Warzone Season 2, leading up to a new map release for Season 3.

According to several leaks, it appears the long-rumoured Verdansk nuking event might finally happen sometime during Warzone Season 2, ushering in a new map.

Right now, the running fan-theory suggests zombies will continue to spread across Verdansk until the progress bar fills to 100% and the missiles detonate.

The image above from Warzone datamining Twitter account TheGhostOfHope showcases Verdansk covered in what appears to be lava. 

The dataminer believes this is what Verdansk will look like after 11th March 2021, a day after the game's anniversary. With Verdansk possibly getting destroyed in the middle of Warzone Season 2, we might need a new map for Season 3.

According to leaks and speculation, the new map in Warzone Season 3 will feature an 80's theme and iconic Black Ops points-of-interest. 

Warzone Season 3: New weapons

As with every new season of Warzone, you can expect new weapons with the release of Warzone Season 3.

At the time of writing, there's no indication which weapons will be making their way into the game. However, secret weapons have already been found in Season 2, hailing from the Modern Warfare era.

These weapons, namely the RAAL LMG and the Scorpion (CX9) SMG, are already in the game but is not available via loadout. You've got to get lucky and find them yourself.

The release of Warzone Season 3 is still a long way off. As the season progresses, more and more leaks should start to appear, and we might get a clearer picture of what will happen in terms of a possible new map.
