Treyarch, Black Ops Cold War's developers, have been preparing the game for the big Season 1 release, scheduled after a delay, for the 16th December.
On 8th December, the devs rolled out the first of several scheduled updates before the start of Season 1, and while the update was quite large, with a lot of new content and fixes, one thing that has been troubling some PC players was again omitted.
The issue in question is mouse behaviour in Black Ops Cold War.
As early as the closed beta, many players have been reporting problems with how the mouse behaves.
Some players think that the mouse input issues are so problematic that it is even "worse if you use mouse and keyboard instead of a controller on PC".
The main issue players have with the mouse is how the mouse movement feels, accompanied by hit reg and bullet velocity issues on PC.

Players describe mouse movement as feeling "floaty" and with too much acceleration that creates delay and desynchronizes movement of the mouse and movement in the game, which makes aiming unpredictable.
"Use the AUG on M&K and then try it on a controller, not even close to fair. I have no idea what is actually happening, but the AUG time to kill is twice as fast on a controller," says Reddit user Remington238. "It is a terrible gun for M&K users but somehow the most OP weapon ever on the controller."
Some are even saying that Black Ops Cold War ranks as one of the worst cases of poor mouse input in game ever.
Treyarch has been quiet about this issue up until now. The problem is that all the feedback is going through them, but they are not the ones developing the PC version of the game, rather Beenox studio is working on it, but players don't have direct communication with them.

After another wave of threads on Reddit asking about the issue following the latest update, Foxhound, Cold War's community manager, has finally responded.
"Sharing some notes I obtained from Beenox as I previously engaged in a similar conversation during our beta."
According to Foxhound, although many players feel that the mouse behaves differently compared to last year's Modern Warfare, Beenox claims that most of the mouse settings are quite similar to those in MW (the studio has been responsible for PC ports of both games).
Foxhound also claims that hip-fire sensitivity is 1:1 with MW and Relative Sensitivity mode "is operating as expected from MW to CW".

Furthermore, Foxhound has provided the community with some explanations for the perceived differences, particularly between the games developed by Treyarch (Black Ops series) and Infinity Ward (Modern Warfare series).
"Our ADS zoom varies across weapons and scopes, as you would expect, which will impact ADS sensitivity in both Relative and Legacy modes," wrote Treyarch's community manager. "Legacy ADS is respective to Legacy Treyarch titles, not Legacy IW titles, with a noticeable difference between the Treyarch and Infinity Ward Legacy mode experiences. Relative mode is virtually the best case for consistency across both."
While players appreciate this explanation as a good start, they would still like if Beenox can investigate the issue players are talking about. Hopefully, the problem might be addressed with the release of Season 1, but for now, Black Ops Cold War PC players that are having these issues will have to be patient.
