With a surge of players trying out the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 during its Early Access, many of the game's pain points have come to light. One issue that seems particularly irritating to players, though more of an annoyance than a bug, is the Winners Circle feature.
This feature has sparked considerable discussion lately, as it plays a significant role in the reception of Black Ops 6. Let's take a moment to explore how the new Winners Circle feature has been frustrating fans during their initial experience with Black Ops 6.
Players Demand Changes for the Black Ops 6 Winners Circle
Since Zombies mode is still unavailable until the full release of Black Ops 6, players have been diving straight into multiplayer. If you’ve tried it out during the Early Access weekend or plan to check it out during the Open Beta, you’ll encounter the Winners Circle frequently.
This end-of-match screen showcases the MVPs or top three players from the winning team, allowing them to display their unique skins and even show off an emote or two as the match concludes. However, it’s precisely the amount of time spent on this screen that has been frustrating many players during the early access beta.
The Winners Circle is unskippable, meaning you’re forced to sit through it until you’re booted back to the lobby. This has led to widespread annoyance, as highlighted by one user on the r/blackops6 subreddit: “I just want to move on to the next game. I shouldn’t be forced to watch some goofy operator doing silly emotes that I don’t care about. Please take it out of the game.” This sentiment has resonated with others, who have voiced similar frustrations.
Another user responded, “IMO if you only have 5 seconds to choose your loadout, then let the Winners Circle be 5 seconds as well.” While some believe that removing this feature entirely would solve the issue, it’s unlikely, as the Winners Circle is probably a way for Activision to showcase real-money cosmetics and incentivize purchases.
One aspect that has drawn additional criticism is the quality of the emotes and animations, which many feel falls short compared to previous iterations of this feature. As one user noted, “It wouldn't be as much of an issue if it didn't look so dumb lol. Hard to excuse such a poor implementation by such a large and well-funded team.”
Ideally, players want a skip button for the Winners Circle, but if it remains unskippable, there’s hope that at least the emotes and animations will be improved. We’ll just have to wait and see what Treyarch decides to do when the game fully releases.
