Experiment 101's Biomutant might soon be arriving on PS5 as a next-gen version of the game has been spotted on the PSN backend. The game was first released back in May of 2021 and was originally released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Game developers Experiment 101 had previously assured fans that a next-gen version of the game would be made available, and it looks as if that time is almost here. A certain Reddit user recently discovered some details about a Biomutant PS5 version, and the leak is quickly circulating the rumor mill.
Biomutant PS5 next-gen Reddit leaks
It's been almost two years since the PS5 and the Xbox Series X|S were released, and many developers have been pushing next-gen upgrade patches for their games to take advantage of the powerful new consoles. Biomutant is the first game of the Swedish development studio Experiment 101, which was founded in the Summer of 2015 by former Avalanche Studios employees.

The game was developed using Unreal Engine 4 and has fairly decent-looking graphics as it was well-optimized for the systems it was released to. Biomutant currently runs at 1080p at 60fps and is upscaled to 4K at 60fps on the PS4. However, it seems like we might finally get to enjoy the game on native 4K, as a new leak suggests that a PlayStation 5 version has been posted on the PSN backend.
A user going by the name of u/the_andshrew on Reddit recently shared a post outlining that the developers have been silent about the game's next-gen update. The post also reads "a new entry for the PS5 version has now been published on the PSN backend so the release is probably not too far away."
The leaker even shared the Title ID and Concept ID, which would seemingly solidify the claim further. While this leak still remains largely unconfirmed at this point, the developers have talked about a next-gen update in the past and might be looking to release one sometime this year. That said, there's no mention of when the next-gen PS5 update will be released or about a Biomutant Xbox Series X version.
Without any official word from the developer to confirm or deny this leak, a pinch of salt is advised while consuming all of this news. We'll be sure to keep an eye out and keep you updated if there happens to be any new information about the exciting scoop. That's all we know for now about the PS5 Biomutant version leak.
