Baldur's Gate 3 is a few days away from launching in a full 1.0 state, and with that comes a whole host of new potential fans. Those fans are wondering if Baldur's Gate 3 will allow you to fully create and customize your own character, and we've got the answer you need.
Can you create your own character in Baldur's Gate 3?
There are seven different pre-created characters that all have their own special introduction which are as follows:
- High-Elf Wizard
- Githyanki Fighter
- Human Warlock
- Half-Elf Cleric
- Human Wizard
- Asmodeus-Tiefling Barbarian
- The Dark Urge
The Dark Urge is unique in that it is the only origin that allows you to completely customize your race, class, and skills. Instead, it changes your dialogue options, due to the fact that you have no memory of your past and are essentially the Baldur's Gate 3 equivalent of chaotic evil. You have an innate desire to kill and could end up killing a character that's extremely important to the overall story.
Even if you don't choose these characters though, you'll still be able to learn more about the backstories of these characters. They'll be available as party members and companion characters.
If you choose none of these characters, then you can create your own character from scratch, handpicking your entire skills and story. You'll be able to choose between different origins, name your own character, choose your background, work out your skills, and do everything that you'd normally be able to do when you're creating a custom character.
