A staple feature in every map of ARK: Survival Ascended is the bosses you need to defeat to ascend from the ARK, and The Center map is no different. However, the boss fight on this ARK is unique in that it’s a double boss fight, pitting you against both the Megapithecus and Broodmother Lysrix at the same time.

This is a tough fight even for a group of players, but it's not impossible to do it solo either. So, if you’re planning on taking this boss on alone, we have you covered. Our approach for this fight works whether you're in a group or going solo against the Broodmother and Megapithecus (but for this guide, we'll focus on solo play). You won't need numerous tames or special weapons; a single tame and a weapon of your choice, along with the necessary artifacts to summon the boss, will suffice.

For the tame, you'll need a Procoptodon, specifically for its jumping ability and mobility, allowing you to evade most incoming attacks. As for weapons, you can choose any high-level weapon obtained via blueprints, which can be fished from around The Center.

Once you have your Procoptodon and weapons ready, head into the boss arena. As soon as you and the bosses spawn, immediately start jumping. This is crucial because the bosses will start attacking you right away. More importantly, you need to take advantage of a specific tactic for this fight: jumping to ledges around the arena and fighting from there.

This might seem like a bit of a cheat, but it's entirely within the game's bounds and allows even a solo player to defeat the bosses with minimal risk. There are three key spots you can jump to when the fight begins:

1. Between the archway in front of the gate at the back of the area, where there's a small lip on the side of the walls you can land on.
2. On the left side of the room (when facing the archway and main gate), there are rocks along the far left side you can stand on.
3. On the right side of the area, there's another rock face you can land on.

Once you land on any of these spots, you can position yourself to shoot down at the bosses with your shotgun or other weapons.

Megapithecus Solo Boss Tips

When it comes to ensuring you don't die while shooting at the bosses, first focus on the Megapithecus. This boss is more aggressive and will actively chase you than the Broodmother, so you need to take him down first.

The first tip is to watch out for the boulders he throws as these are aimed at you in his line of sight, but since his line of sight comes from his chest, it's a bit lower, meaning if you stand a bit towards the back of the ledge, the boulders will hit the section you're standing on and bounce off. This tactic might glitch occasionally, so be prepared with healing items in case you get hit, but it's generally the safest strategy.

Broodmother Lysrix Solo Boss Tips

For the Broodmother, be cautious of her acid and web attacks, which inflict slow and deal massive damage. Move frequently along the ledge to dodge her attacks, and avoid standing too far over the ledge, as her acid has a smaller hitbox and can bypass small objects to hit you if you're not careful.
