While the list of TEK Structures in ARK Survival Ascended isn't extensive, each structure offers potent abilities and applications. Among them, the TEK Cloning Chamber stands out for its capability to clone creatures in the game, making it one of the most powerful tools in the end game.
For those looking to obtain and explore the uses of the TEK Cloning Chamber, this guide has you covered. Below, we will guide you through the crafting and utilising the TEK Cloning Chamber in ARK Survival Ascended.
How To Craft the TEK Cloning Chamber in ARK Survival Ascended
The TEK Cloning Chamber is a device that functions exactly as you'd expect, allowing you to clone any creature in the game. This is a highly useful feature, so the cost of crafting this device is also quite high based on the items below:
- TEKgram unlocked after defeating the Dragon Boss (Alpha)
- 5500 × Metal Ingot or Scrap Metal Ingot
- 800 × Polymer, Organic Polymer, or Corrupted Nodule
- 550 × Crystal or Primal Crystal
- 100 × Element
- 200 × Black Pearl
To craft the device, you'll also need access to a TEK Replicator, so if you don't have one, be sure to check out our guide on how to get the TEK Replicator here. Powering the device requires a TEK Generator; be sure to check out our guide on the TEK Generator here as well, in case you don't have one.
Now that you know how to craft the TEK Cloning Chamber, let's discuss its uses and other details in the section below.
How Does the TEK Cloning Chamber Work in ARK Survival Ascended?
As previously mentioned, the TEK Cloning Chamber can be used to clone any creature in the game except for a few. Below are all the creatures that you cannot clone using the device, though this might be subject to change as new DLCs come out:
- Corrupted Creatures
- Fenrir
- Forest Wyvern
- Noglin
- Tek Stryder
- Titanosaur
- Desert Titan
- Forest Titan
- Ice Titan
Once the device is set up, you'll require Element Shards to clone creatures to use it. The number of Shards needed to clone a creature depends on the creature type and creature level. Cloning time ranges from a minimum of 40 minutes to a maximum of 4 days (approximate times). Cloning time also depends on the type and level of the creature you want to clone.
The cloning process is fully automatic and does not require any player actions during any part of the process except at the start. You just need to place the creature on the platform. The "Clone..." options show the required amount of Element Shards.
Once the shards are placed in the cloner's inventory, you can start the process with the same option. The inventory holds up to 48000 Element Shards, allowing Dinos up to level 450 to be cloned.
This is extremely useful as it allows you to take that high-level dino you have on hand, such as a Rex, and clone it exactly, removing the need to go out and hunt for another one. It's also a great way to clone creatures that cannot be bred but can be tamed, such as the Rhyniognatha and Dung Beetles.
A warning worth keeping in mind is that the process can be disrupted, such as if the TEK Generator runs out of power; when this happens, you'll need to restart the cloning process, and any Element Shards used up until that point will be lost. So keep this in mind and be sure you have enough resources for the entire process.
So there you have it, everything you need to know to craft and use the TEK Cloning Chamber in ARK Survival Ascended. Be sure to give this device a try if you're in the end game of ARK, as it can easily bolster your dino forces with perfect replicas of your favorite Tames.
