Gene Scanner Uses And Abilities In ASA Aberration

The Gene Scanner offers four primary functions, each with its own set of features and limitations. Here’s a breakdown of how each capability works in practice:

Gene Scanner Tracking

Nearby Creature Tracking

This feature provides a list of all available creatures of a chosen species. You can toggle this feature on or off, and when enabled, the device will use red, yellow, or green arrows to guide you towards the creature you’re tracking.

Creature Trait Scanner

You can hover over or zoom in on a creature to reveal its specific traits. By holding down the "H" key near the creature, you’ll get a detailed list of its traits and how they affect its stats.

Trait Extraction/Implantation

This function allows you to approach a tamed creature and extract its traits, which are then stored in the Gene Scanner. You can implant these traits into other creatures, but note that the traits can only be transferred to baby dinosaurs or eggs/embryos. The Gene Scanner can store up to 10 traits at a time.

Embryo Removal

With this capability, you can remove embryos from gestating creatures and implant traits into them, effectively skipping the gestation period. This allows you to build a nest of eggs for future hatching or remove and destroy unwanted eggs.
