The "desert goggles and hat," which are both part of the headgear in this set, offer you quite a unique advantage when taking on the dangerous sandstorms that plague Scorched Earth deserts. The goggles and hat allow you to see more clearly and increase your overall visibility during and inside sandstorms, which is a massive boon you'll want since not seeing a sandworm or dino coming at you during these sandstorms can easily lead to a quick death.

The entire armor set isn't as valuable for combat purposes as its armor rating overall isn't very high; however, in tandem with the goggles, it provides you with the best chance of surviving the elements and environment of Scorched Earth.
