The Deinosuchus is the latest addition to the roster of ferocious dinosaurs in ARK: Survival Ascended. Although it might not seem like a major threat to bosses, this creature is a powerful boss melter. But what makes the Deinosuchus so formidable in boss fights? Well, that's where we come in to uncover the details.

In this article, we'll delve into the abilities and utility of the Deinosuchus, showcasing why it's an excellent choice for boss runs on The Island or The Center. Our goal is to provide you with insights that could make the Deinosuchus a valuable new asset for your tribe.

What Makes The Deinosuchus Great For Boss Fights In ARK Survival Ascended?

The Deinosuchus is a surprisingly powerful dinosaur for both The Island and The Center maps. Although it may seem to just lumber around, picking on any nearby wild creatures, a properly tamed Deinosuchus can become a formidable boss killer, particularly in higher difficulties such as Alpha or Beta fights.

What sets the Deinosuchus apart is its melee stats, which are among the highest in the game. Even a wild one, when tamed, can be quite effective, but if you manage to find a high-level Deinosuchus, trap it, and then breed it, you can create a tank-like creature that can withstand heavy hits while delivering substantial damage.

This is especially useful for solo players who prefer not to rely on a strategy of attacking the boss with a shotgun while their tames handle the damage. While a shotgun might seem like a more potent option, a level 200 Deinosuchus can inflict 15k damage with a Giga Bite, and when leveled up with points in melee and health stats, it can easily reach up to 20k damage per Giga Bite.

Deinosuchus extra damage to bosses

Pairing your Deinosuchus with another two or three of the same kind will allow you to stay comfortably mounted and deal significant damage to bosses on either map. The Deinosuchus’s ability to deal extra damage against bosses, combined with its high melee stats and Giga Bite ability, makes it an exceptional boss killer.

Additionally, the Giga Bite ability is performed independently by each Deinosuchus, meaning that other Deinos on your team will also be dealing heavy damage. With this strategy and perhaps a few healing and food items for your Deinosuchus, you’ll be well-equipped to take down bosses with ease.
