Footage of a cancelled Prince of Persia game has emerged

Strange things are going on with the Prince of Persia franchise in the last couple of years.

Just a couple of days ago, it was discovered that Ubisoft has registered Prince of Persia 6 website domain.

That by itself raised a few eyebrows, but know we have more things happening around the franchise.

Suspiciously timed, a wild Prince of Persia Redemption video appears. That game was supposed to be a second reboot of the franchise but was cancelled.

What is odd is that the video is posted on YouTube back in March 2012, and until now, it had next to nothing views. The only logical explanation is that it was unlisted. Unlisted videos can only be seen if you have a direct link to them, you can not find them through search or YouTube algorithm.

Anyway, the video is now public and it is already getting a lot of attention, already more than 200,000 has seen it at the time of writing this article, just 12 hours after it was first shared on ResetEra forum.

The gameplay itself looks pretty polished and interesting, but definitely a slight depature from past Prince of Persia games. Someone called it Uncharted Creed of Persia, which might actually be the best observation.

The trailer shows various combat methods and exciting platforming action with destructible surroundings. All that while the apocalyptic event is unfolding around you, with a monstrous giant creature emerging from the earth itself.

Do you like what you see in the trailer? Or you think that it is deviating too much from the Prince of Persia formula? One thing is for sure, the game looks as 2012, as it can get.
