It's been a rip-roaring start to the season in Major League Baseball and MLB The Show 22 is keeping players step-for-step with the action. The San Diego Studio title was released ahead of Opening Day 2022 and offers dynamic gameplay with some all-new features.
One of the fan-favorite modes is Diamond Dynasty, the card-collecting fantasy team mode allowing players to construct their dream lineup. Diamond Dynasty mode features some legends of the game in the form of throwback cards, bringing in players from multiple generations. The current in-game event offers a chance to unlock a free Cover Athlete Card, so follow along to find out how to complete the Program.
Cover Athletes Program - MLB The Show 22
Diamond Dynasty mode offers so many different cards for players to customize their squad, with prices ranging all over the map. Some of the top-rated cards in the game can cost hundreds of thousands of Stubs, which is sadly well out of many players' price range, at least in the early stages of the season.

Giving players a chance to add a cornerstone card to their team, San Diego Studios just rolled out the Cover Athletes Program in Diamond Dynasty. The Program offers new challenges and missions, as well as a grand prize selection from any of the MLB The Show Cover Athlete cards.
How to complete Cover Athletes Program - MLB The Show 22 Program Stars
In order to progress the Cover Athletes Program rewards track, players will need to complete a series of Moments, Missions, and a Showdown Challenge to unlock Program Stars.
Moments - Cover Athlete Program
The first and easiest way to unlock Program Stars is by completing Moments. These situational mini-games put players in the shoes of former Cover Athletes in the year when they graced the label of The Show. Step up to the plate as Andrew McCutchen or Miguel Cabrera in their MVP form to see if you can re-create their best baseball.
Moments unlock 3 Program Points each and can only be completed once (for rewards).
Missions - Cover Athlete Program
Players will likely be working towards Missions Program Stars in the Cover Athletes Program as it simply requires you to gain Parallel XP with Live Series or Cover Athlete versions of former MLB The Show 22 Cover Athletes. By simply recording stats (the better the stats the more XP) with eligible players in Ranked Seasons, Battle Royale, Events, Play vs CPU, Mini Seasons, and Conquest.
Missions are repeatable and will award 3 Program Points for every 500 Parallel XP unlocked with Live Series or Cover Athlete versions of the eligible players.
Showdown - Cover Athlete Program
The last method of unlocking Program Stars will require a 500 Stubs entrance fee, but should you succeed it will certainly be worth the price of admission. Draft a team consisting of Flashbacks and Legends cards from the Cover Athletes Series Choice Pack and take on Shohei Ohtani's squad in the Final Showdown.
Showdown for the Cover Athletes Program can only be completed once but it will unlock a whopping 25 Program Stars for you to get closer to the grand prize rewards.
MLB The Show 22 Cover Athletes Program - Rewards Track
There are 9 levels in total (10 points each) for the Cover Athletes Program Rewards Track. Players will be rewarded with different The Show 22 Packs and Stubs bundles as they move closer to the grand prize.
Upon reaching level 9, you will have the opportunity to select one player from any of the Cover Athletes from the MLB The Show series. This is a fantastic way to add a premium player to your lineup for free and boost your team's outlook on the rest of the season.
