Ninjas in Pyjamas

The legendary Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP) organization is ready to get back into the Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports scene with force after finally revealing the last piece of their new roster.

Following the Copenhagen Major RMR (and their failure to qualify), NIP released Patrick "es3tag" Hansen, Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke, and Daniil "headtr1ck" Valitov and started to rebuild in March 2024.

First, NIP brought back head coach Richard "Xizt" Landström. Then, they promoted Max "maxster" Jansson from the youth team and then picked up Artem "r1nkle" Moroz. Now, over two months later, we finally have a brand-new NIP squad yet again with the last piece of the puzzle being Isak "isak" Fahlén.

Richard "Xizt" Landstrom talks about the addition of Isak, explaining that:

Isak embodies the essence of team play — he's the unsung hero who elevates the performance of his teammates. Isak's consistent performance under pressure, posting solid stats in the least flashy role, underscores his reliability. Despite his youth, Isak's potential for growth within our setup is promising and I think he'll quickly become a crucial asset.

The full NIP CS2 roster that will compete in the top-tier events, such as BLAST Premier Fall Groups and ESL Pro League Season 20, looks strong, with a core of three Swedish players.

New NIP CS2 Team:

  • Fredrik "REZ" Sterner
  • Artem "r1nkle" Moroz
  • Alejandro "alex" Masanet
  • Max "maxster" Jansson
  • Isak "isak" Fahlén

It kind of reminds me of the glory days of NIP, with young and hungry players about to pull off some upsets on the server...but I could be wrong.
