PlayStation Plus free games announced July 2019

Every month, PlayStation gives PS Plus users two free games, from AAA titles to indie gems, and they've come out with a solid pair for July 2019.

In the last couple of years, subscribers have received huge games such as Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Rayman Legends, Soma and Yakuza Kiwami, amongst others.

This month, subscribers will be getting PES Productions' Pro Evolution Soccer 2019, the latest offering from FIFA's closest competitor. This comes just in time for the end of the Women's World Cup, despite PES not being able to use World Cup content since EA Sports holds the licence for FIFA. Despite the lack of licences for top-flight leagues and clubs, PES has always offered an impressive experience of pure football gameplay and, in terms of gameplay only, rivals FIFA very closely.

The other free PS Plus game for July is Horizon Chase Turbo, indie developer Aquiris Game Studio's arcade racing game. The game originally released for mobile in 2015, but came to PS4, Nintendo Switch, Windows PC and Xbox One in 2018, containing a bunch of content including cars and tracks that were not available in the mobile version.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 and Horizon Chase Turbo will be available to PS Plus subscribers from Tuesday, July 2, as free PS Plus games drop on the first Tuesday of each month. Before then, though, you still have time to pick up June's free games Sonic Mania and Borderlands: The Handsome Collection.
