After a long wait, Blizzard has finally announced the release date of WoW TBC Phase 3 with an official blog post. Players will be given access to the Battle for Mount Hyjal and Black Temple raids as well as much more soon.
WoW Classic TBC Release Date
The announcement reveals that Phase 3’s content will be released in two separate waves, the first on 17th January, and the second on 27th January.
Differing from previous Blizzard patches, the maintenance for these updates will be conducted two days prior to their release. This allows players to hop right into the new content on launch day.
Arena Season 3 and the new Warlock companion
Arena Season 2 ended on 11th January, leaving PvP fans with little content to enjoy, but luckily, they won’t have to wait much longer for the new season.
The first wave on 17th January will see the release of Arena PvP Season 3 as well as the Warlock class’s new companion, the Incubus (male version of the Succubus).
With Arena Season 3, players will be able to purchase PvP gear from vendors in Shattrath and Nagrand. Meanwhile, Season 2 PvP gear will be sold at a discounted price from vendors in Area 52, and Season 1 gear will be purchasable in Orgrimmar by the Horde and Stormwind by the Alliance.
Mount Hyjal, Black Temple, and more
Phase 3 of WoW TBC will officially launch on 27th January, and with it, players will finally be able to enter the new tier 6 raids, socket new epic gems, complete Netherwing daily quests, and more.
The new tier 6 raids, Black Temple and Mount Hyjal will see a slight tuneup in the form of bosses dropping 3 tier 5 tokens as opposed to 2. Another big change is the introduction of Mark of the Illidari. These marks will drop off of bosses in the new raids and can be exchanged in Shattrath for flasks which will be a big help to players strapped for gold.
The lengthy attunement process and difficult nature of the content will of course remain the same upon release.
Along with the new raids, players will be able to socket epic gems into their gear. These gems will drop off of bosses in tier 6 raids and can be mined in Mount Hyjal.
Lastly, the new Nether Drake mounts and Netherwing daily quests will also be added with Phase 3. Players can complete daily quests for the Netherwing faction in Shadowmoon Valley, and upon reaching exalted, will be allowed to purchase the Nether Drake mounts.
The hype for Phase 3 of Classic TBC has reached an all-time high, and the wait is almost over.
