Several Until Dawn actors have hinted at the release of an Until Dawn 2, though developers haven't confirmed the potential upcoming game quite yet. The game has been out for under two weeks, but fans are already asking questions about a possible sequel, and actors' posts are only raising more questions.
In a new bonus video with Hayden Panettiere (Sam Giddings), she mentions that "they" are "going further" with the franchise. The video was later reposted by Peter Stormare, who plays Dr. Hill in Until Dawn.
"Until Dawn has been around for years and years now, and I think people love it," Panettiere says. "The fact that they, you know, are going further with it, says there's a want for it."
While Panettiere's statement doesn't confirm that an Until Dawn 2 is coming, it definitely could be taken that way. Alternatively, Panettiere could be referring to the upcoming live-action series. However, Stormare's comments were a bit more direct. On his personal Instagram account, Stormare shared a picture of a newspaper with some interesting text. The headline reads: "Until Dawn sequel confirmed with the remake?"
Then, the paper's body says: "With the new endings added to the remake of Until Dawn, this new version may have confirmed long-standing rumours of a continuation of this story in a new game." The text then encourages fans to leave their theories in the post's comments, prompting speculation and discussion. The "new endings" he mentions reference some of the new endings in the recently-released Until Dawn remake, which hint at a sequel.
Some speculated that the Until Dawn sequel will be developed by Firesprite, which mentioned its involvement in a “AAA narrative driven horror-adventure game" back in 2022. This fits the description of Until Dawn pretty well - but for now, Firesprite hasn't confirmed for sure that it's working on Until Dawn 2.
