Stalker 2 developers shared the first screenshot from the game

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was initially announced way back in 2010, but the development stopped in 2012, and the project was soon dropped. In 2018, fortunately for the millions of fans around the world, it was announced that the development of the game would start once again from scratch, as a new project.

Still, we know very little about the game, since the developer G.S.C. Game World is quietly working on the game behind the scenes, choosing to share very little about the game until it's ready to be shared. The only info we have is that the game is supposed to launch in 2021, but even that is not entirely sure. Besides that, we know that the game is being made in the Unreal Engine and that it will support modding, one thing that made the original so appealing and long-living.

Yesterday, for the first time, the developer decided to share actual content from the game with fans. Not much, just a screenshot, but still something we can hold on to.

As you can see, on the image, we can see an anomaly, abandoned rusty vehicles, and high woods typical for the location. Our first impressions are positive, we like what we see, and the image has strong Stakler vibes.

Alongside this image, they've also released a statement in which they express their gratitude to players, saying that all of their work around the game inspired them, and are assuring fans that this is their biggest project yet. You can read the full statement in a tweet below.
