Bokeh Game Studio's Slitterhead just got a brand-new story trailer, and it gives a lot of insight as to what fans can expect from this exciting upcoming horror game from the creator of Silent Hill. You can check it out for yourself just below:
The trailer doesn't contain any dialogue, and instead focuses on visuals and atmosphere to show players what to expect from the experience. It's an action-packed and fast-paced experience, introducing us to an array of mysterious characters - some featured in the previous trailer, and some completely new. The description also gives us some more in-depth information about the plot and some additional context.
We learn that Slitterhead all takes place in a city called Kowlong, while players take on the role of the "Hyoki." The Hyoki has no memory, form, or selfhood, but has some pretty unique powers.
"“Devoid of physical form, Hyoki’s ability allows him to possess and control human bodies at will, turning the people wandering the city into his pawns,” developers explain. “With this power he can slip through barriers, assume the identity of specific individuals, and infiltrate dangerous areas and organizations. By rapidly switching hosts, he can also traverse the city at high speed.”
The Hyoki uses those skills to take down Slitterheads. We get to see some of those Slitterheads in the trailer, and they're definitely unsettling - as we mentioned, the game is made in part by Silent Hill creator Keiichiro Toyama, and the monster designs reflect the ones in those games.
Slitterhead's new story trailer is a sneak peek of what's to come from the highly-anticipated title, set to release on 8 November 2024. Many fans have been excited for the game's release since it was announced back at the Summer Game Awards 2021, with the anticipation ramping up again after developers released a new world premiere trailer for the game at the 2024 awards. Those interested in the game have had to wait a while for its release, but the wait is only getting shorter.
