Bokeh Game Studio, led by Silent Hill creator Keiichiro Toyama, has released some new information surrounding the upcoming action-adventure horror game Slitterhead ahead of the game's launch on 8 November. The sneak peeks include a first look at new characters, skills, game mechanics, and more.

The first of the game's characters is the ruthless ex-Marine Blake, who commands the SPEU, an organization that fights Slitterheads. We're also introduced to Betty, an elderly woman offering enigmatic messages, and Lisa, the sole nurse working at an illegal clinic.

And then, of course, we meet the Slitterheads themselves and learn a bit about their "overwhelming power." Slitterheads can consume a human brain, mimicking their behavior and personality. But when preying on humans, they take on a different, "Pupal" form that replaces their head with a "grotesque visage." In the presence of danger, they absorb that host's fluids to turn into their "Complete Form," which increases their power significantly. Every Slitterhead is different, but none can operate for long without a human host.

Slitterheads are parasitic beasts that take over human hosts.

Each of the humans has own skills to fight back against these monsters, including two 'Active' powers and one 'Common' one. For example, Blake is equipped with Bloody Shot - which generates a machine gun out of blood, but depletes his blood levels - while Betty can use Diabolic to turn blood pools into blades.

We also learn a bit about the characters' environments and what gameplay may look like. Players will be able to find Memory Fragments, which allow for the return of lost memories, forgotten objectives, or even new abilities. They can also interact with Shrines, which offer rewards in exchange for completing tough challenges. Along the way, players can collect costumes and customize characters.

Slitterhead will be available starting 8 November on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC via both Epic Games Store and Steam.
