Fans can try out Slitterhead, an action horror game released 8 November by Keiichiro Toyama's Bokeh Game Studio, for free starting today. A free Slitterhead demo is now available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
The game also now has PlayStation 5 Pro support, with visual enhancements, improved resolutions, visual effects, and more. Developers invite players to "stalk the streets of Kowlong as bodiless entity Hyoki, inhabiting human and animal bodies to traverse the streets and engage in blood-drenched combat while unraveling the mystery of the Slitterheads."
Bokeh Game Studio describes the game as follows:
"Set in the densely cluttered streets of “Kowlong,” filled with obscurity and chaos, this battle action-adventure game casts players as the “Hyoki,” an entity devoid of memory and physical form. His only motive is to eradicate the monstrous beings known as “Slitterheads” crawling around the city, disguising themselves as humans.
Roaming the vibrant neon-lit cityscape, players must seek out allies among humans known as “Rarities,” infiltrate and track dangerous organizations, and engage in battles harnessing the power of blood. As the suspenseful drama unfolds, delve into the mystery behind Hyoki’s existence and the appearance of the Slitterheads."
The game's description says that saved progress data, difficulty settings, and more might transfer over to the full version.
Slitterhead was released earlier this year after it was announced at The Game Awards in 2021. Since the game's announcement, developers got fans excited with a series of teaser videos and other content. To celebrate the demo's release, Bokeh Game Studio is also offering a 30% discount off the $49.99 MSRP on PC for a limited time.
