Roller Champions is the latest competitive sports game from Ubisoft, and as expected, the game will release across multiple platforms. Nearly every player will be able to join their friends, regardless of the platform, aside from Nintendo Switch. That will arrive at a later date.
Crossplay and cross-progression have become a staple feature in most AAA multiplayer games across the industry. Some games that utilize this include Call of Duty, Fortnite, and Rocket League. The features won't work exactly the same in Roller Champions though, and depending on the feature that you want to use, there are some limits.
Crossplay in Roller Champions
First and foremost, the idea behind crossplay in a game like Roller Champions is to remove platform barriers. This means that players who are on PlayStation 5 and PC will be able to join each other's groups or games. Earlier generations and Xbox platforms will also be included in the list.
Crossplay is possible because of the way that developers control their accounts. Rather than using your PlayStation or Xbox profile, everyone playing Roller Champions will need a Ubisoft profile. Having a Ubisoft profile is the norm for all Ubisoft games such as Assassin's Creed, so this is a common feature.

Anyone that wants to play together will need to utilize Ubisoft Connect. If you have an account on the service, you can add friends through connect and search for them, regardless of the platform you are on. But before attempting anything in this realm, crossplay needs to be enabled through your avatar settings.
Now crossplay and cross-progression are two different sides of the same coin. Crossplay is nearly universal for Roller Champions, but cross-progression is going to have some limits depending on the content you are attempting to use.
Cross-progression limits in Roller Champions
Cross-progression refers to the account stats or items that you may have in Roller Champions. When you level up or earn new rewards on a platform like the Xbox Series X, that progress will be saved if you sign into the same account on a PC platform.
Nearly all stats will transfer between the available Roller Champions games. However, there is some content that is locked to the platform where you have obtained it. the main example of this is Wheels on your character. The platform that you purchased them on is where they are bound for good.
