Beat up bots to the sound of music. ByteRockers' Games' Beat Slayer has launched on Steam, where the electro sounds of 90s Berlin meet a retro-futuristic rhythm-based hack n' slay. As Mia, players must fight against hordes of robotic enemies in a series of stages, all to reach Dietrich, a villainous former musician who has seemingly captured Mia's brother Toni.
But the road she walks is not an easy one, and Mia must utilize a variety of weapons and upgrades to grow strong enough to showdown with Dietrich. Think Hades and Hi-Fi Rush, with a sprinkling of Metal: Hellsinger.
Music takes an important role in Beat Slayer, with the game's soundtrack having been produced in collaboration with Germany's Babelsberg Film Orchestra. Plan your movements and attacks to match the beat and deal increased damage to the metal menaces that threaten Mia at every turn. For those who find it tricky to listen out to the rhythm, Beat Slayer offers on-screen visual assistance to ensure that everyone can stay on beat.
Beat Slayer is available now on PC via Steam for or 19.99 EUR/$19.99 USD, with a free-to-play demo live for players to sample.
