Eleven Puzzles, the indie studio behind Unsolved Case and Unboxing the Cryptic Killer, has confirmed that its new cooperative puzzle game, Parallel Experiment, will be released on Steam on March 6, 2025. The announcement comes alongside the launch of a demo, allowing players to get a taste of the game before its full release.

Parallel Experiment centers on two detectives, Ally and Old Dog, who find themselves trapped in the deadly web of the Cryptic Killer, a villain with a penchant for twisted experiments. The game’s unique hook lies in its cooperative structure—each player is tasked with solving a set of puzzles, but the catch is that the two players are separated and each holds half of the puzzle. In order to progress, they’ll need to communicate and share their discoveries in real time.

In addition to the main investigative puzzles, Parallel Experiment includes mini-games that offer a break from the main story. These retro-inspired games, such as darts and claw machines, are reimagined with a cooperative twist, giving players a chance to unwind and challenge each other in lighter, more competitive ways.

While Parallel Experiment will launch first on Steam, versions for iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch are planned for later in the year. The game will also support crossplay, enabling players on different platforms to team up for the cooperative experience.

For those curious about the backstory of the detectives, Parallel Experiment can be enjoyed as a standalone title, though players can also explore the previous games, Unsolved Case and Unboxing the Cryptic Killer, for additional context.

With its unique blend of puzzle-solving, collaboration, and immersive storytelling, Parallel Experiment is shaping up to be a notable addition to the genre. Fans of cooperative puzzle games will likely find much to appreciate when the game launches in March.
