The Winch is a tool that allows players to pull or push their vehicles out of the water, mud, or between rocks and crevices using a natural point or an Anchor if they have one. How To Get And Use The Winch In Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game?

One of the few unfortunate situations players will encounter is getting stuck within a crevice, unable to cross a lake, ascend, or descend a cliff. Sometimes, revving up the engine to power the vehicle can eventually help them overcome the imposing obstacle, but there will be times when this isn't applicable.

This is where a Winch will be handy as it's one of the few gadgets players can access immediately to get themselves out of sticky situations. A Winch is a gadget utilized to push or pull a vehicle when a cable from the vehicle is attached to attachment points.

These attachment points can be found in nature, like trees and rocks, or attached to an Anchor when no natural points can be found. To begin using the Winch, players can open the Devices menu by hitting the corresponding key or button, and they can scroll through the wheel to highlight the Winch option.

They can select an attachment point to connect the Winch to, but if there aren't any available, they'll need to place down an Anchor, accessed if they've purchased it during the Expedition Setup screen. Bring up the vehicle's Inventory to check if they have an Anchor available before selecting it and positioning it somewhere on a flat surface.

A radar will appear on screen, highlighting the Anchor's placement radius before placing it down within areas marked green. All that's left is to select the Winch from the Device wheel, attach the cable to the Anchor, and either pull or push the vehicle across the lake or onto a flat surface.

They can then release the Winch from its natural attachment point or the Anchor placed down using the corresponding key or button, and this process can be repeated if necessary. Once they've managed to avert getting stuck, they can continue their expedition or exploration in Free Roam once the Winch is released.
