Polish developer CD Projekt Red has always been one of the few video game creators out there who stand firm against unnecessary microtransactions. However, clickbait articles have emerged lately, suggesting Cyberpunk 2077 will have microtransactions for its single-player campaign.
Will Cyberpunk 2077 have microtransactions?
The rumours about Cyberpunk 2077 microtransactions in its single-player campaign resulted from President and Joint CEO of CD Projekt Red, Adam Kicinski, mentioning the title will have microtransactions.
This, however, was just some murky messaging, as Adam Kicinski seemed to have been talking about the future multiplayer experience.

CD Projekt has now Red shut down rumours and clickbait articles surrounding Cyberpunk 2077 microtransactions.
Nothing changed. Cyberpunk 2077 is a single player game with zero microtransactions. One single purchase. No tricks. Don't believe the clickbait. https://t.co/qX0iZwsAf2

CD Projekt Red went on to explain how the separate Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer project will have some microtransactions.
CD Projekt Red states: "Cyberpunk multiplayer/online, which is a separate project, will have some microtransactions, but we said that a year ago already. Like always, expect us treating your money with respect."
Hopefully, CD Projekt Red's explanation has now cleared up any confusion regarding Cyberpunk 2077 microtransactions.
Cyberpunk 2077 releases on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on 19th November 2020, with next-gen consoles to follow.
