Pirate's life is never an easy one, albeit full of adventures and treasures. But we always need moRRRRe treasure and more gold!
And new Ships of Fortune monthly update for Sea of Thieves will bring us just that - new option for getting richer. You can now make an alliance with one of the trading companies and become their Emissary. Outpost Trading Companies each have their own perks and goals, so you will choose one that suits you most: Gold Hoarders, Merchant Alliance, Order of Souls, or Athenaâs Fortune.
You will be able to dress your pirate and ship to suit your current company of choice, and with that comes greater rewards from your adventures, plus special cosmetic rewards for those who perform best. But also greater risks, since others will know who do you work for and will know when you are on the mission for them - a great target for some nice loot!
There's also a new company known as The Reaperâs Bones, and they are the ones that will make things exciting. They can be found at The Reaperâs Hideout, and their Emissaries have but one duty â to destroy all other representatives and take their Emissary Flags as trophies, and looting you in the process.
Ships of Fortune also bring updates for Arena mode. Old treasure maps have been replaced by a single chest marked by a Sea Dog Beacon, with just one cash-in location, and will last only 15 minutes. These changes aim to ensure that Arena will be more intense and action-packed, with a focus on a single objective. This also comes with new options for a quick recovery of your fallen pirates. Their crewmates can now bring them back to life, but they must do this quickly, otherwise, they are gone for good.
And finally, the most important update - cats! Cats are the new type of pets, and they come in three variations; Wildcat, Ragamuffin and Mau, each one with a variety of colour options.
All of this will naturally also come to Steam once the game is released there. For more in-depth info about all the new stuff coming with Ships of Fortune, check the official announcement.
