One of the most thrilling games of VCT LOCK//IN 2023 is over, and LOUD has beaten DRX in a best-of-five series by 3-2 to qualify for the Grand Final. Aspas became the MVP of the match as he took whopping 93 kills and pulled off some insane clutches during the whole series.
Haven and Lotus were banned by the teams, and the first game was played on LOUD's map, Pearl, and though almost every round was very close, score-wise, it was a one-sided game as LOUD won the map by 13-5.
DRX was expected to dominate on the next map, Icebox, after their tremendous performance against Cloud9 and Talon Esports, and LOUD was also playing Icebox for the first time at LOCK//IN. However, it didn't go like that, and LOUD put 9-3 on the board at the end of the first half.
DRX did try to make a comeback, and they were sort of successful in it, as they won five back-to-back rounds in the second half, but that was not enough to stop LOUD's momentum as they won the Icebox by 13-8.
It was pretty difficult for DRX to make a comeback in the series from 2-0, and the way LOUD was thrashing them made everyone think that the third map would also be their game. However, DRX pulled off a tremendous comeback in the next two maps, Split and Fracture.
They won both maps by 13-7 and successfully took the series to the fifth map, Ascent; however, they fell short by a few rounds as LOUD took the victory in the final close map by 13-8 to win the series by 13-8.
LOUD will now face the winner of NaVi vs. Fnatic at VCT LOCK//IN Grand Finale on March 4.
