How to Unlock Jaeger in Escape From Tarkov

Escape from Tarkov merchants are initially hard to figure out, leveling up, obtaining new items, completing ridiculous tasks, and now having to "find" and unlock merchants like Jaeger. Thankfully, finding and unlocking Jaeger isn't as hard as one may think, however, you must enter the forgotten lands of Woods to find the old chap. Before the conflict, Jaeger worked as a hunter in the Priozersk Natural Reserve under the state hunting service. A professional hunter and survival specialist. Therefore denoting, that you're going to have to rummage around a little to find Jaeger. 

Thankfully, to unlock Jaeger you have to complete a "Find & Extract" task and it's nothing difficult. The only task that is difficult is surviving the Woods terrain, as all the tasks you have to complete for Jaeger are based on this map; jumping in the deep end never did anyone any harm!

How to Unlock Jaeger in Tarkov 

To unlock Jaeger you must:

• Obtain level two
• Accept (not required to complete) Mechanics task "Gunsmith - Part 1"
• Immediately accept Mechanics task "Introduction" 
• Enter Woods Map and find Jaegers's camp and a letter within the camp 
• Extract and survive with the letter 
• Hand over the letter to the Mechanic 

The task "Introduction" states you must "Find Jaeger's camp at the specified spot on Woods, Obtain Jaeger's encrypted message, and hand over the message to Mechanic." As seen above, the location of Jaeger's camp is south of sniper rock and northeastern of the small military. Essentially, you need to walk within the camp, locate a broken birdwatching post and pick up the letter, then extract it safely and alive. If you die, you must repeat the process.

When you reach the damaged birdwatching post and look beneath it, you'll find the encrypted letter. Simply interact with the letter and pick it up, you'll be prompted with the continuance of the mission and urged to "Survive and Extract." From here, you want to locate your closest and safest extract and extract.

Once extracting from Woods, visit Mechanics task page, hand over the letter, and complete the mission. After doing so Jaeger will be available for you to use, happy hunting!
