Escape From Tarkov: How to Find Extract Points

Escape from Tarkov, arguably the least beginner-friendly FPS title ever released causes confusion and much trouble to newcomers. However, once learning how to play Escape from Tarkov, the skills never leave and you're free to roam the lands confidently. Within this guide, we're going to teach you how to extract and where to find your extract

"Extracting" is what you do once you want to leave the Tarkov map with your loot, to do this you visit a specific designated location on the map and you'll be returned safely to the menus.

How To Extract In Escape From Tarkov

Within this guide, we're going to teach you how to extract within Customs as an example, the Customs map is listed above.

To discover the location of your extract you need to double-tap "O" on the keyboard. This will bring a drop-down menu with the names of locations. For example, in the map Customs, the drop-down menu might state:

• ZB-1011
• ZB-1012 
• RUAF Roadblock
• Smuggler's Boat
• Dorms V-EX Old Road Gate

These can be potential locations you must visit to extract within Customs, however, there are more such as "Crossroads," "Trailer Park," "ZB-013," and others. 

Where to Find Extraction Points in Escape from Tarkov

Regardless, once you see the dropdown menu after double-tapping "O" on the keyboard, you're going to need to travel to one of these locations. To find these locations, search on Google images "Escape from Tarkov Customs Extract Map" and locate where the locations are and run to them. 

Once you arrive at the location, you're going to want to run into a certain location to initiate the extraction. To know that you've initiated it, a prompt will pop up saying "Extracting In 00:07" and you'll have to stay within the small extracting area for the stated amount of time before extracting. 

Extraction Points with "??:??:??" 

As you can see, some extracts have "??:??:??" next to them, these extracts are ideal to avoid until you feel more confident extracting in Escape from Tarkov. 

If you decide to extract through these locations, it means there is either an objective to complete before extracting or a chance the extract will be open for use. In terms of objectives, you may require a key.

For example, the ZB-013 extract located in Fortress in Customs requires you to turn on the power in Warehouse Four and then use your "Factory Emergency Exit Key" to extract through ZB-013. Another example, "Dorms V-Ex" in Customs dorms area requires you to pay ₽5,000 to extract and you can only complete this if the black vehicle is present (you'll see it).

As mentioned, beginners should only focus on extracts that are completely open for use. These extracts will not obtain "??:??:??" next to their name. However, these extracts without "??:??:??" are usually located on the outskirts and far parts of each map causing you to spend longer reaching the extract.

Once you feel more confident, explore "??:??:??" extracts as they'll benefit you in the long run. Some of these extracts don't require objectives or keys to be completed, for example, in Old Gas Station in Customs, you can extract through that location if you see green smoke above the Old Gas Station (provided it's in your list after double-tapping "O").
