Exploring the cast and dangerous island in Sons of the Forest means you'll be thrown into the deep end (literally) as you'll be forced to traverse not just the mutant-infested caves and bunkers, but also the icy cold waters to find items and equipment to survive. Swimming around unprotected isn't a good idea for any survivor, so you'll need a wetsuit to make sure you can survive the waters long enough to find what you need.
If you don't know where to find the wetsuit in the game, then we have you covered. As this guide will give you a comprehensive breakdown of where to find and how to get the wetsuit in sons of the Forest as well as give you some insight into why you might want to find it sooner rather than later.
How To Get The Wetsuit In Sons of the Forest
The wetsuit, like many other items in the game, is found in a cave, luckily it's the same cave that you'll find the shovel in, so to get to it safely, you need the Rebreather and the Rope gun to make your way through. Below we've marked the location on the map where you can find the cave entrance.
Once you reach the destination, you'll notice a few impaled corpses outside the entrance. Search these thoroughly as you'll be able to scavenge the Slingshot from one of them as well as some other random loot drops.
Next, you can break through the entrance and make your way into the cave to begin your search for the wetsuit. Using your lighter and rope gun, make your way through the first area of the cave and continue to a section where you'll need to use your rebreather to dive into the water and follow a tunnel leading further into the cave.
When you emerge from the water, you can head forward along the path until you see some glowing items on the ground. One of these items will be the wetsuit, along with some other useful items such as more oxygen tanks for your rebreather and ammunition.
What Is The Wetsuit Used For In Sons of the Forest?
The wetsuit is used to solve similar problems swimmers and divers have in real life when traversing water. The main one is that it prevents your character from getting wet and cold, a status effect that limits your movement and can cause your fatigue to increase.
It also negates the slow movement that your character will have when swimming without it, which makes moving in the water faster, and hopefully allows you to escape some dangerous situations like being chased by sharks. But note that you should only wear the wetsuit when swimming and take it off immediately when you're out of the water as continuously wearing it can give you the cold and wet status effect.
