Below you can find a quick and comprehensive breakdown of how to find the Cooking Pots in Sons of The Forest. As well as some added tips on how to use this piece of cookware to prepare delicious meals while you survive the dangers awaiting you on the island.
Sons of the Forest - How To Find Cooking Pots
There are two Cooking Pot locations in Sons of The Forest that we currently know of, if more are found, we will be sure to update this listing accordingly. The first Cooking pot is deceptively simple to find and is on the western side of the island.
Head toward the abandoned camp, situated to the east of the two rivers that run vertically down much of the west side of the island. You'll find the cooking pot placed right in the middle of the camp, so you won't miss it. Its exact location is displayed in the provided screenshot above.
The second Cooking Pot is slightly trickier to find, and to start your journey, you'll head to the eastern side of the map. Just to the right of the largest lake in the area is where your search will begin as you'll need to head inside the bunker as shown on the map below.
To get inside, you'll need a Guest Keycard, and once you do, you can follow the straight corridor, utilize the keycard on the double doors, activate the cutscene, and move through the darkened rooms until you reach the staircase at the end. Descend the stairs and take the first door on your right to access a room with furniture and a stove adjacent to a microwave. You'll find the second Cooking Pot sitting on the stove.
Sons of the Forest - How To Use Cooking Pots
To use the cooking pot, the first thing to know is that you'll need a reinforced fire to cook your food, not just a makeshift campfire will do. Secondly, you can also set some traps to catch different animals to create different dishes as there are quite a few recipes to try, though the food bunker should also have what you're looking for if you can't find an ingredient.
Now that you have the correct fire and meat let's discuss how to use the pot to cook food. The first step is to fill it with water, which can be done by equipping it like a water flask and collecting water from a nearby lake or stream.
Once you have filled the pot, return to your fire and interact with it by pressing E. This will open the portion of your inventory where you typically select meat to cook.
You will notice the cooking pot listed here, so click it to place it on the fire. A cog will appear, showing the different meals that can be prepared, and you can add ingredients in the same way as you would for regular cooking.
And there you have it, a comprehensive breakdown of how to get the Cooking Pot and use it in Sons of the Forest. Be sure to check back here soon in case more pots show up, and be sure to try out all the new recipes at your disposal.
