Smash Ultimate commentator Keitaro admits to having sex with underage player

The Smash community is currently going through one of its most turbulent periods ever following a surge of sexual misconduct allegations.

In some cases they have involved minors, with Smash Ultimate commentator Keitaro admitting to having sexual relations with an underage girl.

Soon after pro player Puppeh called out commentator Cinnpie for initiating a sexual relationship when he was 14 and she was 25, more victims came forward with their own stories.

Keitaro, rumoured to have been part of a case that involved grooming a minor, put an end to speculation by confirming it was true via a Twitlonger post.

In his statement, the 32-year-old describes an encounter with pro player Shiva as they were gearing up for a doubles tournament in California back in June 2018, explaining how things escalated due to a drinking game while playing.

“After playing for a bit she was like ‘omg I have to take 4 shots!’ and I mentioned ‘it's okay, you don't have to take them if you don't want to…’ and she picks up all 4 shots and downs them," the post reads.

"We then continue to play for a while with me not losing, but I strongly suggested she not drink anymore and that we should just play Smash. After some time she gets up and says she wants to go to the pool, to which I agree. She didn't have a bathing suit so I suggested she use my shirt.

"So we are in the pool with others there and everything is chill for a while, but after some time she starts trying to hold me. Again, I know I should have immediately got out of the situation, but I was kinda just like okay....but we aren't doing anything sexual so it's fine."

Eventually, the commentator claimed she grabbed his "private parts" with no attempt made at stopping her, leading to both having intercourse.

"After some time she put her other hand in the pool and I wasn't sure what she was doing until I felt me inside of her," he wrote. "I yelled 'what are you doing!!??' but didn't stop anything afterward."

Pro player Colinies revealed several people in the community knew about this incident but decided to cover it up to protect Keitaro's reputation.

Colinies explained in a Twitlonger: "After a few months of being friends with Keitaro, he told me the story of what had happened with Shiva that week and at that party, the full story.

"I was shocked he would trust me with that information after only being friends for a short amount of time but it was very apparent to me that his character at the moment in his life was very shaky."

According to the California State laws, if any adult has sex with a person aged 18 or less, it is considered staturory rape. It remains to be seen if there'll be any legal repercussions against Keitaro.
