Dedicated Sky: Children of the Light players are no doubt familiar with Daily Quests, since they offer players a ton of benefits for completion - but soon, they're seeing some pretty major changes. Thatgamecompany is adjusting how players obtain and complete Daily Quests, introducing new quests and activities, and providing numerous quality-of-life updates to the entire Daily Quest system. "This is a big project, so these phases will each have a gradual roll out," the team explained.
Under the new Daily Quest system, Sky kids will get their quests from Spirits in Aviary Village, and will be able to share those quests with friends. There will also be hints throughout the world (at Map shrines and from Spirits themselves) leading players to the Daily Quests.
Players will also be able to get closer to Spirits and befriend them while completing Daily Quests, making the world of Sky more personal and immersive. "Quests should mean more within the world of Sky, and the time and effort you put into them can impact parts of the world—for example, the Spirits," Thatgamecompany writes.
While this part of the update is still in its "very early stages," developers say they are experimenting with the ability to become best friends with Spirits, have unique activities for each Spirit, and a way to show friends which Spirits you've befriended closely.
Last but not least are a wide array of quality-of-life improvements for these quests, including more types of quests, new quest formats, more rewards, and an overall more consistent experience. This part of the updates might be the least immediately visible, but it's one of the most important, developers explain: "It’s mostly internal work, so you may not see many changes right away when this new quest infrastructure is implemented, but this foundation will pave the way for where we really want to go!
