Anime Defenders Official Update Roadmap (August 2024)

Following a recent fan outcry for more transparency from the developers, Anime Defenders now has an official update roadmap. While this roadmap may be adjusted based on community feedback, we will keep you informed of any new changes as they become available. Alternatively, you can join the official Anime Defenders Discord to get real-time updates on any changes.

NEW REALM: ATHENYX

• A new Realm will be introduced, belonging to the Goddess Athenyx.
• You can travel to this Realm to retrieve her fiercest warriors (Units) and bring them back to the main world.
• In the Realm, you can complete unique Maps, Challenges, and the Battlepass to summon units from Athenyx's Trials (banners).
• You can only bring 3 UNITS of your choice into the Realm.
• You cannot leave the Realm without Athenyx's Key (an item obtainable in the Realm).
• You cannot leave the Realm with Realm Units you obtain within the Realm, with one exception:
  • You can use Athenyx's Tether item to bring back one Unit of your choice when combined with Athenyx's Key.
• Level 30 is required to enter the Realm.
• You keep any Items you obtain in the Realm.

NEW TRIALS (BANNERS)

• In the Realm, you can summon from one of 3 TRIALS (Banners).
• 11 new Realm Units are obtainable only in the Realm.
• Each Banner contains different Secret and Mythic Units with varying strengths.
• Each Banner is summoned using one of 3 Currencies (Aqua, Solar, and Flame Tokens).
• Aqua, Solar, and Flame Tokens are obtained based on the maps and challenges you complete.
• You must choose which path to grind for the token you want to use for summoning.
• There will be a secret pity mechanic on these banners.

NEW ATHENYX BATTLE PASS

• The Realm will feature a F2P + Premium Battlepass.
• It will have 25 Tiers.
• The Battlepass will reset once you reach the end, allowing you to play it again.
• The goal of the Battle pass is to grind for Athenyx's Key and Athenyx's Tether (to exit the Realm and take a Unit back).

NEW ATHENYX'S CHALLENGES

• In the Realm, there will be an area for Challenges.
• These challenges are like different game modes that alter gameplay significantly. For example:

NEW REALM STORY MAPS

• 6 new Story Maps.
• Each map drops items and tokens based on the path you choose to grind in the Realm.

NEW INFINITE CHALLENGE

• Each map will feature a new Infinite Challenge Mode.
• It functions like Infinite Mode but requires you to pick a Modifier from 3 options every 15 waves.
• The selected Modifier stacks as you progress through the Infinite waves, making the challenge progressively harder.
• New Infinite Challenge Leaderboards will also be introduced with rewards.

NEW REALM ITEMS

• Wave Skip Item (allows you to skip to specific wave numbers, useful in Infinite mode).
• Portal Hardening Item (if used on any portal, guarantees the portal will drop itself in case you don’t hit the secret unit, allowing you to try again).
• Limited Breaker (increases a unit’s level cap).
• Athenyx's Key (used to exit Athenyx's Realm).
• Athenyx's Tether (used to bring any one Unit back with you to the main world).
