A Universal Time (AUT) 4.2 Update Patch Notes | January 2025

A Universal Time (AUT) has received the much awaited 4.2 update. While it is not a massive update when compared to the previous ones, it has brought Umbra's rework, new NPCs, bosses, and more.

CONTENT CHANGES

[REWORK] Umbra

“Join my sect and let’s cultivate together.”
The original, fan-favorite ability returns with a remastered, new moveset.

Obtainment Method(s):

1. Talk to Umbra and complete his first task to prove your worth.
2. Collect the following items to craft the “Sovereign’s Chapter” item:
   • Demonic Scroll
   • Fragment of Death
   • Godly Doctor’s Poison
   • Heavenly Nectar
   • Tales of the Universe
   • Corrupted Soul
3. Return to Umbra after crafting the “Sovereign’s Chapter” item. He will task you to defeat the bosses:
   • Skibidi Noobie
   • The Sovereign
4. After defeating both bosses, talk to Umbra to obtain the “A New Fable” item. Combine it with the “Sovereign’s Chapter” to craft the “Sovereign’s Sword.”
5. Use the “Sovereign’s Sword” on ‘Standless’ to obtain ‘Umbra.’

NOTE: All Umbras below a Legendary+ trait have been wiped.

[NEW BOSSES]

The Sovereign

• Spawn Location: Dark Souls domain near the King’s Throne (every 30 minutes).
• Credit Requirements: Deal at least 10% of Umbra’s max health.
• Possible Drops:
  • Legendary Chest (100%) (Umbra skins obtainable).
  • Umbra Mastery Points (25-50)

Premium Drop Rates (when spawned via Premium Shop):

• Familiar (Skin): 20%
• First Drifter (Skin): 15%
• Hyde (Skin): 5%
• Bladed Sapphire (Skin): 10%
• Ouroboros (Skin): 10%
• Sovereign Execution (Kill Effect): 20%
• Umbral Devastation (Kill Effect): 20%

Shadow Assassin

• Spawn Location: Any Boss Alter.
• Possible Drop:Fragment of Death (100%)

Skibidi Noobie

• Spawn Location: Any Boss Alter.

The Hunter

• Spawn Location: Any Boss Alter.
• Possible Drop:Demonic Scroll (100%)

[NEW NPCs] 

• Umbra (Interactive):

  • Location: Floating Village (next to his clone).
  • Initiates the Umbra quest and mastery progression.

• Sword Disciple (Hostile):

  • Location: Floating Village (near quest giver).
  • Required for Umbra’s questline.

UMBRA MASTERY

Note: Mastery requires completing the Umbra questline.

• Max Mastery Rank: 12
• Mastery Progression:
  • Deal at least 10% of Umbra’s max health to earn 25-50 mastery points.
• Mastery Point Thresholds:
  • Mastery Ranks [1-5]: 100 points.
  • Mastery Ranks [5-12]: 200 points.

Mastery Rewards:

• Mastery Level [1-9]: Unlock new moves (e.g., Sovereign, Sword Impalement, Whirlwind).
• Mastery Level [10-12]: Unlock passives (e.g., bonus true damage, healing enhancements).

[NEW MECHANIC]

Specific abilities now deal increased damage to certain NPCs:

• The Hunter: x2 damage from Xeno, Yasuo.
• Skibidi Noobie: x2 damage from Xeno, Umbra.
• Shadow Assassin: x2 damage from Umbra, Dawn, Yone.
• The Sovereign: x2 damage from Xeno, Dawn.

[NEW ITEMS]

• Sovereign’s Chapter [MYTHIC]: Used to craft the Umbra ability.
• Sovereign’s Sword [MYTHIC]: Used to obtain the Umbra ability.
• A New Fable [MYTHIC]: Quest item for crafting.
• Demonic Scroll [LEGENDARY]: Boss drop from “The Hunter.”
• Fragment of Death [LEGENDARY]: Boss drop from “Shadow Assassin.”
• Godly Doctor’s Poison [LEGENDARY]: Crafted item.
• Heavenly Nectar [LEGENDARY]: Chest drop.

Premium Shop Changes 

• Added tabs for Items (direct inventory purchases) and Bosses (spawn bosses).
• New Umbra skins and kill effects available.

MISCELLANEOUS CHANGES/CONTENT

• New UI for trait stat rerolling.
• New quest adjustments for Umbra.
• New charm for F2P.
• New Code: UMBRAREWORK (expires 1/19).

• Various VFX, UI, and mechanic adjustments.
