Many Trainers worldwide are prepping for the Field Notes Research and the chance to catch a new powerful Staraptor during the Starly Community Day in Pokémon GO. Indeed, a rare catch is one of the most exciting parts of a Community Day, and a Shiny Starly is the crown jewel.
Whether it's a weekly Spotlight Hour or a monthly Community Day, Trainers always wonder whether the next featured Pokémon will have a Shiny form to catch. Sadly, not every Pokémon in GO has a Shiny form, which is different from the main series games; they are still used to keep the game fresh.
Pokémon GO - Shiny Starly in the July Community Day
These monthly Community Days are usually consistent, so yes, Shiny Starly will certainly make an appearance. When a Pokémon gets a featured Community Day at any point, it will get a Shiny form in Pokémon GO if it's not already available to catch. This can get confusing because the same rule doesn't apply to Pokémon GO Spotlight Hours.
One of the best parts of Community Days is also the bonuses that are applied. There are explicitly stated bonuses such as XP or Stardust Boosts, but one is mentioned directly. In addition, Shiny forms of the featured Pokémon, like a Shiny Starly, will have a higher chance of spawning while the event runs.

The Community Day will be live from 17th July 2022 from 11 am to 2 pm local time. Starly will be all over the map during those hours, and the chance of finding a Shiny will be higher. This bonus will apply to any of the same Pokémon that spawns around gyms after defeating a Staravia. However, this bonus will expire after the event ends around 8 pm local time on 17th July 2022.
As always, a Shiny form isn't guaranteed, even if it might be more probable during the event. The good news is that some methods increase your odds of a rare encounter. First and foremost, you'll want to ensure that you have Lure Modules and Incense Lures active at all times. One Incense will last for three hours during the event hours.
To save time, you should tap on every Starly that you see as it spawns, especially in populated areas. You don't need to catch a Pokémon to see if it's Shiny, so once you start an encounter, back out and tap on another. If you want the Candy for your Field Notes, you can still catch what you need, but it will take more time.
