The Tank-Form Shadow is one of the main bosses in Persona 3 Reload who you face during the full moon in early August. It's a tricky encounter, especially since there are two bosses tucked away in one, and they can both revive one another.
However, there are things you can do to finish this encounter quickly. In this boss guide, we explain how to easily beat the Tank-Form shadow in Persona 3 Reload.
Tank-Form Shadow Boss Guide In Persona 3 Reload
Best Characters To Use
To easily beat the Tank-Form shadow boss in Persona 3 Reload, we recommend the following team composition:
- Aigis
- Yukari
- Mitsuru
- Protagonist
The key to winning this battle lies in using each character's Theurgy efficiently. Yukari is the best of both worlds as she can heal and revive party members while also dealing devastating damage with her Theurgy, aka her ultimate ability. Likewise, Aigis is required in this encounter because her Theurgy deals AOE damage and is extremely useful in this situation (more on that later.) Additionally, Aigis can buff up attacks and it will be immensely useful here. Lastly, we have Mitsuru, who you will need primarily to lower enemy defenses. Mitsuru also has a devastating Theurgy, and since it's relatively easy to fill up her Theurgy meter, you can use it whenever the need arises.
Tank-Form Shadow Strategy
When it's in the tank form, the shadow will be resistant to all elemental attacks. As such, you first have to separate it into two shadows - Chariot and Justice. You can separate the tank shadow into two parts by using a Theury attack. It's the only way to separate them, so make sure to use Yukari or Mitsuru's Theurgy.
The real battle begins after the two shadows have been separated. Do note that they can revive one another, so your best bet is to lower their health below 50% and then use Aigis' Theurgy attack to finish them together.
Begin with lowering their defenses with Mitsuru's Rakunda skill. Next, use Aigis' Tarukaja skill to increase Mitsuru or Yukari's attacks. You can use Yukari's wind attacks and Mitsuru's ice attacks to lower Chariot's health. Likewise, you can use Aigis' and (hopefully) the Protagonist's Pierce attacks to lower the Justice shadow's health.
Once their health is below 50%, use Aigis' Tarukaja to boost her own attack. When her turns come again, use her Theurgy to finish both the shadows. Doing so will complete the encounter.
